Fun fact: you already go in and out of hypnosis several times a day. In the daydream you slipped into mid-conversation, or the commute home where you arrived without remembering your journey there, or the moment just before sleep when your body is heavy, and your mind drifts somewhere else.
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention, experienced by every human on this planet.
What makes hypnotherapy different is what we do inside it.
Hypnotherapy works because it bypasses the critical factor of the mind.
Most of the time, we try to create change or make decisions from our conscious awareness – the part of the mind responsible for logic and judgement. It's useful, but it's also the part that talks you out of things and keeps you in familiar patterns.
In a deep state of relaxation, the conscious mind can take the back seat, and we get easy access to the subconscious, which is where our automatic responses are rooted. Our thoughts, habits and beliefs are encoded at this deeper layer, as hardwired architecture. The brain operates on predictability to conserve energy and optimise productivity, but this means you’re often running on autopilot.
What we do is change the autopilot to work in our favour.
In this state, the brain becomes genuinely plastic, meaning new neural pathways can form, we can change the emotional charge attached to old experiences, and assign new meaning to things that have been holding us back.
And because hypnotherapy works with the mind AND the body together, the change isn't just cognitive. It also lands, somatically, in the body's automatic responses. That's why change can happen quicker and deeper than what you’d expect to see in talking therapy alone, because you're rewriting it from the inside.

I'm Ana, a Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, Creative Coach, and former Senior Art Director with 14 years at world-class advertising agencies, including Ogilvy London.
I graduated top of my class at HypnoTC in 2021 (one of the highest regarded hypnotherapy schools in London, led by Dr Kate Beaven-Marks), and was the second person in the school's 15-year history to achieve 100% mark on all exams. I'm also three years into a shamanic practitioner training, which deepens how I hold space and brings a ceremonial dimension to some of the work I do.
I bring all of it into the room: fourteen years of behavioural science, creative strategy and problem-solving from advertising. Five years of clinical knowledge of how the mind and brain work, rooted in neuroscience, from my hypnotherapy training. And a shamanic practice grounded in ceremony and spiritual connection. We'll start with a conversation about what you want to work on and what you want to move towards. From there, I'll guide you into a deeply relaxed state (you'll be aware of everything, and fully in control), and we'll do the work.
It feels very similar to a guided meditation, but we go deeper than that.
Sessions are 60 minutes and take place on Zoom. -
It depends on what you're working on. Some goals can shift in a single session. Others (particularly anything with deeper roots, like long-standing anxiety, grief, or patterns that have been around for years) benefit from more time. That's why I offer packs of 3 and 6 sessions.
If you're unsure, start with one and we'll go from there. -
It's better to go deep on one thing than shallow on many. That said, most things are connected, and often working on one area creates movement in others without us having to name them all upfront.

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention, which means you will have experienced it, naturally, several times throughout your life. It is similar to a state of daydreaming and is often characterised as the state you’re in when you’re just about falling asleep or just waking up.
What varies is depth and responsiveness, and that's something we work with together. If you've tried hypnotherapy before and felt it didn't work, it's worth exploring why (it's rarely about you). -
Hypnotherapy, when practised by well-trained professionals, is perfectly safe. It is a natural state your body and mind are already used to, and one where you’re always in full control of what’s happening. That means you won’t get stuck in hypnosis, and you won’t black out. The only “side effects” you can expect to experience are feelings of relaxation and well-being.
